Project description

According to Schlumberger, oil production could stop within 24 hours due to scale buildup inside wells, causing millions of dollars in losses each year.

In this project, the efficiency of the applied chemical product to solve the scaling problem is measured from the morphology of the particles using an Artificial Intelligence-based regressor. The crystal image sets used for training were obtained in a controlled simulation of the scaling phenomenon, using ESEM/EDX (Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope/Energy Dispersive X-ray) electron microscopy. This technique has been proven in thousands of studies conducted in oil fields in studies conducted in the North Sea and Kuwait, to obtain an auxiliary variable called efficiency to help in making decisions on the timely application of the inhibitor.

Data processing

The GUI and Artificial Intelligence both run on Windows OS, the MySQL database is installed on a Linux machine in the cloud.
